Distinguished CIRP Colleagues, Friends and Honoured Guests,
On behalf of the British CIRP delegation, it is with great pleasure that we extend this invitation to the 69th CIRP General Assembly (GA) in Birmingham from the 18th to 24th of August 2019. This will be the 6th time the GA has been held in the UK following London (1958), Nottingham (1968), Harrogate (1983), Edinburgh (1993) and Manchester (2008).
The 69th CIRP GA promises to be an intellectually stimulating and vibrant event with world-renowned scientists/academics presenting the latest advancements in production engineering. The conference also provides an international platform to discuss novel ideas, consolidate existing relationships and establish new collaborative partnerships with leading researchers and industrial organisations.
Historically the hub for the Industrial Revolution in the late 18th century, present day Birmingham is the UK’s second city, which boasts a diversified economy encompassing the manufacturing, service, education and technology sectors. Situated in the ‘heart’ of England, the city and its immediate surrounding counties offer a unique cultural experience with exceptional contemporary and heritage attractions to explore and saviour, which are reflected in the accompanying persons programme.
