Pre-meeting Travel Awards

The Cologne based Clinical Research Unit KFO329 “Disease pathways in podocyte injury – from molecular mechanisms to individualized treatment options” (www.podocyte.org) is proud to support the Podocyte Conference 2021 by providing travel support for young researchers to participate in the Pre-Meeting. The Podocyte Clinical Research unit is an interdisciplinary, cross faculty research Center of Excellence at the Department of Nephrology at the University Hospital Cologne funded by the German Research foundation (DFG). It is based on the concept that minimal-change disease and focal-segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) treatment require a targeted approach that addresses the particular underlying pathogenic mechanism in each individual case. The ultimate aim is to be able to diagnose and treat distinctly deregulated pathways in podocyte disease with an individualized approach, a precision medicine strategy.

The travel awards will offer up to €500 for European attendees and €1,000 for non-European attendees. The travel awards will be available to early career researchers if they submit an abstract. The selection criteria for the awards is based on abstract selection scores made by the organising committee and will be awarded to as many attendees as possible.

We also encourage young researchers from laboratories situated in low and middle income countries to apply as we also have specific sponsorship for these individuals.

To apply for a travel award you will need to register and submit an abstract. At abstract selection we will announce the travel awardees and if successful you will receive funding after the conference.
